“Sex and the City” fans get a bonus Christmas present this year with the new trailer for “Sex and the City 2” hitting the net today. So ladies, slip on your Choos, grab a Cosmo, and get ready to “Carrie” on!
The minute and a half long trailer opens with Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) strutting her stuff in a fab white dress and gold aviators to Jay-Z and Alicia Keys’ hit “Empire State of Mind” (a perfect choice of music there), and we find out that it’s been “two years, and in two years, amazing things can happen…”
We’re treated to a smooch from Big, glimpses of the gals in gorgeous gowns, a gay wedding, Charlotte baking cupcakes with her new baby girl, and Samantha checking out a hot guy (like we didn’t see that one coming!). Puzzling is a shot of Carrie back in her old apartment — couldn’t fit all her designer duds in the new place, perhaps? — and some criminal crimping of Carrie’s hair, which I’m praying must be part of an ’80s flashback.
Some of the best fashion moments happen when the girls take a vacation in Morocco — exotic turbans, headbands and chic, chunky jewelry dominate the ladies’ wardrobes — and there’s even the odd camel or two thrown in for good measure!
I’m hoping most of the film stays set in New York, as that’s where the gang is always at its best, but as Carrie says in the closing moments of the teaser, “Sometimes you just have to get away with the girls.” Can’t wait.
