Love Collection by Prabal Gurung for Target

Prabal Gurung for Target

Today feb 10, 2013, Prabal Gurung’s first solo collection with Target got launched. The last time I saw few of his pieces in the Neiman Marcus collection for Target. I love how unique and out of the box his designs are. I did get the cape he designed (for Target in Neiman Marcus collection) and that is pretty much I have. I really like the fact that Target does collaboration with big designers so that common people (like us) can afford big name brand items.  These are few of the items that I would buy:

1. Women’s Prabal Gurung for Target® Lace-up Pump – Apple Red

2. Prabal Gurung For Target® Lace Overlay Top -White/Black

3. Women’s Prabal Gurung for Target® Flat Sandal – Black

4. Women’s Prabal Gurung for Target® Wedge Sandal with Ankle Strap – Black/Grey

5. Prabal Gurung For Target® Shirt Dress in Nolita Print

6. Prabal Gurung For Target® Lace-Front Blouse -Black

7. Prabal Gurung For Target® Sleeveless Blouse in First Date Print

8. Prabal Gurung For Target® Sleeveless Tee in First Date Print

9. Prabal Gurung For Target® Lace-Front Blouse -White/Sulphur

10. Prabal Gurung For Target® Nolita Print Hard Sided Clutch – Multicolor

How to organize your closet?

I am particularly obsessed with organizing my closet. It needs to be clean and tidy when I go in and I am pretty sure I clean it up at least once a week (okay may be once in 2 weeks). Here are easy steps to minimize clutter and chaos out of your closet:

1. Start with taking out clothes that you do not wear and always wonder why you bought it in the first place.

With me the problem is that I buy denims which are a size small on me. Now I have stopped doing that and have either sold or donated most of the old ones which do not fit me. You can sell them at stores like Plato’s Closet or online at Craigslist.org. Plato’s closet pays good price for your gently worn clothes.

2.  Make sections in your closet according to occasion.

We attend a lot of community events. So divide your clothes into categories like:

a) Party Wear: Most of my party wear dress are in a corner where I do not reach out to everyday. Most of my sarees are wrapped in soft butter paper and are placed in a box.

b) Office/Work Wear: My work wear deserves to be in hangers as they get worn alot.

c) Casual Wear: My casual wear are carefully stacked and some are on hangers too.

d) Lounge Wear: My lounge wear is what I reach up to after work so they are nicely stacked and are placed right in front of me.

e) Sports Wear: I TRY to work out at least 3 times a week so to motivate myself I keep them under my lounge wear shelf.

f) Coats,Jackets and Sweaters: Since it is bitter cold where I live so almost 1/3 of my closet space is occupied by my coat, jackets and sweaters. Again I have them in Outdoor Coats (heavy coats), jackets (which are lighter and for indoors only) and sweaters (I wear them for work as it gets cold inside office with AC’s on) order.

g) Intimates: I keep in separate boxes.

h) Special Occasion shoes (put them in Boxes): I do not put my day to day wear shoes in my closet. I box my special/party wear shoes and put them stacked. Also I am pretty OCD about wiping of any dirt from shoe soles before putting them in a box and I also keep a laundry sheet along with them so that they do not smell when I open the box next time.  Since the boxes are transparent so I know which shoe I need to reach for.

h) Accessories like scarfs, belts and purses: With me “Out of sight Out of mind” formula works. If I do not see my accessories in front of me then I would totally forget that I even have them. I have my purses placed in one row. I have an island in the center which has my party wear clutches, belts, hats and gloves. I keep my jewelry organized in my vanity along with my other essentials.
