A three-member delegation of the European External Action Service (Asia and Pacific Region) arrived in Kathmandu on a 3-day visit on Saturday.

The delegation led by Viorel Isticioaia-Budura, managing director for Asia and Pacific, is here to give continuity to political consultations between the European Union and Nepal.

In a statement, Isticioaia-Budura said, “The political consultations are a regular part of our cooperation and constitute an important opportunity for both sides to take stock of bilateral partnership and set the priorities for the years ahead.”

“We are very pleased to be here at a time when Nepal is preparing to embark on an important journey of peace, stability and progress,” he said.

During the three-day visit, the delegation is scheduled to call on President Ram Baran Yadav, Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai, Constituent Assembly Chairperson Subash Nemwang, senior government ministers, leaders of the major political parties, government officials including Chief of the Army Staff Chattra Man Singh Gurung and members of the European Economic Chamber of Trade, Commerce and Industry Nepal.
