The government on Friday decided to grant Rs 20 million to a mountaineering team of ruling UCPN (Maoist) comprising party Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal´s son Prakash Dahal which is all set to climb Mount Everest, the world’s tallest peak.
A meeting of the cabinet held this morning decided to provide the aforesaid amount for the “Lumbini-Sagarmatha” expedition, informed Minister for Physical Planning and Works Hridayesh Tripathi after the meeting.
The government has also decided to build the much-touted “Republican Memorial” inside the Narayanhiti Palace Museum, the former abode of the now deposed monarchy.
Similarly, the government has decided to make 10th amendment to the Civil Service Act 2050 which will allow the transfer or reshuffle of civil servants only during mid July to mid September period every year.
